During a Round Table discussion, held in Rome on October, 1 and concluded by Education Minister Mariastella Gelmini, Andrea Gavosto has pointed out how the Italian school system is affected by the same issues and inconveniences currently faced by the school system of most OCSE Countries, even though in a sharper way.
Whilst having to take into account our Country’s distinctiveness such as the strong regional unbalances, meaning for instance that the South is facing more serious difficulties also as far as school is concerned, the national debate has nonetheless to become more aware of the global patterns of education issues and we have to tackle the challenge which will face all developed countries in the next twenty years: what should be the role of schooling in the Global Economy of Knowledge?
During his speech the Director of the Fondazione Giovanni Agnelli has anticipated some of the guidelines and outcome of the report that will be published early next year.
